I'm back!!

Well its been a long time since I posted on here. I think I'm pretty much settled in the new house, except for making it my own style. I'm getting there. Slowly but surely.

I did make my closet a sewing room, but now it's just a sewing supply room. I felt quite closed in sewing in a closet. No windows and it was just lonely. LOL! The good thing is now I can actually walk in there without my sewing machines taking up most of the space. Although I did stock up on more fabric and took up crocheting and knitting. It's just a corner of my closet filled with yarn. I'm sure that will change. I might have to convert the linen closet into a knitting supply closet. LOL! My poor husband has about 2 foot spot in our closet for his stuff. The good thing is his golf clubs have moved out of there into the trunk of the car.

I have a digital camcorder now, and plan on posting some sewing videos and such on here. I also am planning some sewing tuts in the near future. My eight year old wants to be my camera man. Lets hope he doesn't goof off too much. Yeah like that's not gonna happen!

I'm planning on doing a ton of landscaping and gardening this year. I'll post pics of those projects too. I would like to also participate in the farmers market this year. They keep calling me to rent a booth. I'm not sure how well that will do with the economy in such a mess now. I for one am watching my pennies. I wonder how well I could do this year. I might just try it and if I'm not making profit the first 3 weeks then I will have to stop. We'll see. Anyways... I'm off to get my sewing room picked up bit so I can take a video of it and post for ya all. Keep an eye out!!

Packing my sewing stuff :-(

So we are buying a new house. Hense why I am online posting at 3:35 am. I can not sleep for the life of me. My mind is racing a mile a minute. I've been packing most of my stash. I left out a few items. Benny needs some bigger covers desperatley. I have 1 wool cover that actualy fits him and one fleece wrap. We are due to close by the 21st of June. I'm hoping to get in and paint the 22nd so we can move in on the 25th. Terry has that day off. I'm thinking of doing the livingroom a rich red with ivory and gold trim and maybe a stripe or foe finish to break up the red a bit. The celings are cathedral so I can have some fun with them. I'll carry that same color theme into the dinningroom. The kitchen, I've always wanted a red gingham kitchen. I'm pretty sure that's my goal there. I realy want to redo the cabinets, but I may just have to paint and new hardware it for now. Eventualy I want to get a new stove and dishwasher, but that will have to wait for now. The ones there are pretty old. My portable dishwasher is getting old too. I'm keeping my eye out for a new dinningroom set.

My bedroom has a HUGE walking closet. It could actualy be a small room. That's my new sewingroom. :-D I am not packing my sewing machines! I will carefully place them on the floor of my back seat and slowly drive them over to the new house. I do not want them damaged. I may just put them in the car seats and strap them in.... yeah I think I better do that. LOL! Anyways.. I better get to sleep. I'll finish this post later.

Welcome to the sewing days of my life!

Hello!
My name is Lorena. I'm a mom to 4 strapping boys, and one happy hubby. We live in upstate NY. My passion is my family of course, but also my love of sewing. I began sewing when my 7 year old was a baby. He had gotten a horrible rash from disposable diapers, and so I began to make him cloth diapers. I was given my late Aunt's sewing machine. I learned some basics from my mom, and pretty much taught myself the rest. I'm still learning everyday something new about sewing.

This blog will show some of my old projects and new ones too. I'm starting to learn to sew my kids clothes and myself. Maybe if my husband is a good enough boy he will get somethng too! Feel free to link to me and I'll link you back. ~Happy sewing!~
